A fire that broke out at a St. Paul home early on Tuesday morning ended up killing a dog, according to city officials. Firefighters responded to the 1800 block of Berkeley Avenue for reports of a fire between the first and second floors of the home. That s where fire crews located the dog and tried reviving it, but the dog did not survive. All residents inside the home were able to get out safely and no firefighters were injured. The St. Paul Fire Department says that working smoke alarms in the home helped people get out quickly. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
