Willmar Police: shooting on 1st Street South does not appear to have been a targeted attack

Willmar Police is investigating a Thursday shooting that injured one person on 1st Street South. According to its press release, the department is currently considering the incident a reckless discharge of a firearm, believing the incident was not a targeted attack. The incident occurred at 12:40 p.m. Thursday at a business in the 700 block of 1st Street South, where police said a man walking into the building was stuck by a small-caliber bullet. The man s injuries were not life-threatening and he was taken to the hospital for treatment. Anyone who may have information about this incident, including surveillance footage or might ve noticed suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident, is encouraged to contact the Willmar Police Department. Celebration of life held for North Dakota lawmaker killed in Brooklyn Park plane crash

A celebration of life is being held in Moorhead on Friday for Liz Anne Conmy, who was killed alongside her partner in a plane crash in Brooklyn Park on Saturday. The celebration of life will take place at RiverHaven Events Center from 4:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. Those paying their respects are asked not to wear black in accordance with Conmy s wishes, who said that one shouldn t wear black to a funeral because it should be a celebration, and are asked to wear something colorful instead. North Dakota State Representative Conmy and her partner, Dr. Joseph Cass, a retired Mayo Clinic orthopedic surgeon, were killed when the Beechcraft F33A they were in crashed near Crystal airport. At this time, an investigation into what caused the crash is still ongoing. School bus catches fire after 3-vehicle crash in Minneapolis

Police are looking into a crash that set a school bus on fire in northeast Minneapolis on Thursday evening. According to Minneapolis police, a school bus, a U-Haul truck and a third vehicle were involved in a crash near St. Anthony Parkway and Marshall Street Northeast. There were no kids on the bus at the time of the crash. A man and woman in the U-Haul were taken to the hospital but they are expected to recover, according to police. The bus driver and the people inside the third vehicle were not injured. This is a developing story. Check back for updates. Man, 27, fatally shot in downtown St. Paul

Police in St. Paul, Minnesota, are investigating after a man was fatally shot in downtown Thursday night.A police spokesperson said the shooting occurred just before 9 p.m. on the 200 block of Seventh Street East. The man who was shot called police to report it, and responding officers found him with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. The 27-year-old was taken to Regions Hospital, where he later died.Police are still investigating what led to the shooting, but said there is no threat to the public.This is the fourth homicide in the city this year, police said.

Saint Paul homicide investigation underway after shooting on 7th Street East

A man is dead after being shot in downtown St. Paul near 7th Street East on Thursday night, according to police. Officers responded to the scene after a 911 caller reported the shooting and medics began first aid on the victim. He was then taken to a nearby hospital where he died a short time later. Investigators did not identify any suspects and they are working to find out what led up to the shooting. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office has not identified the victim yet and they are currently trying to determine the exact cause of death. St. Paul police say that this is the fourth homicide in the city this year.
