Watch: Dr. Ibram X. Kendi on how ‘the great replacement theory’ went global — Edina Arts news

Historian and bestselling author Ibram X. Kendi joins MinnPost to discuss his new book, Chain of Ideas: The Origins of Our Authoritarian Age. Dr. Kendi traces how great replacement theory traveled from the fringes of French nationalism to become a driving force in authoritarian movements worldwide, and examines what it will take to defend democracy against it. University of St. Thomas s Dr. Yohuru Williams moderates. This session was recorded live at MinnPost Festival in Minneapolis on Oct. 10, 2026. The gathering drew hundreds of Minnesotans for conversations and community around the people and ideas shaping the future. The post Watch: Dr. Ibram X.
